Coca-Cola Teams Up With Calvin Harris For Summer Campaign

Calvin Harris creates new track 'Yeah Yeah Yeah, La La La' exclusively for the new 'Coca-Cola' ad campaign  

'Coca-Cola' and Calvin Harris have come together to record a new track 'Yeah Yeah Yeah, La La La' an upbeat electro-pop tune which will accompany the new 'Coca-Cola summer TV commercial, and is set to be the sound of the summer.

Calvin has written, produced and provided vocals for the track. 'Coca Cola' asked him to create a track that captured the fun, happiness and optimism of summer, using the 'Yeah Yeah Yeah, La La La' phrase as inspiration. The track will also appear on Calvin's next album.

Calvin comments "Initially, I was told that I was to make the anthem of the summer. I've made one before, I made one with Dizzee Rascal, that was clearly the anthem of the summer so I thought I could probably do it again.  So I had a shot, I had a couple of goes, playing with happy chords. I took my inspiration from Brian Wilson who once said that Pet Sounds was made entirely of happy sounds, but I came up with a disco record instead."

Calvin adds "The track on the advert's great, just because it fits in so well. We've worked together, me and Dougal, the Director, to tailor the track to the ad rather than just have a random song over the advert. So, yeah, I'm well happy with it."

Guy Duncan, European Creative Director, comments: "Much like hearing Holidays Are Coming at Christmas,  with this campaign we're looking to build anticipation and excitement throughout the summer. The upbeat track on the new ad depicts a summery sound which we hope will build positive feeling around the brand over the summer months."
