Party SOS - How to Avoid the Hazards of the Hangover Season
Christmas can be back-to-back partying and binge drinking can take its toll. To help you get through the party season relatively unscathed, Coca-Cola Great Britain has come up with the P.A.C.E plan - four simple steps to help you avoid the hazards that cause a hangover, without ruining your festive fun.
Coca-Cola Great Britain has a wide range of soft drinks to offer you this Christmas to help you follow the P.A.C.E plan. Besides its classic 'Coca-Cola' offering, Coca-Cola Great Britain offers a broad selection of sparkling and still drinks including 'Sprite', 'Minute Maid' and 'Oasis' through to 'Malvern' English Water.
If you're looking to cut down on sugar or calorie intake, but don't want to lose out on taste, there is also a wide range of low and no added sugar drinks to choose from. 'diet Coke', 'Coke Zero', 'Sprite' Zero, 'Schweppes Straightcut' Slimline Lemon and 'Oasis' Light are just a few.
And as and when you do fancy having an alcoholic tipple, but still want to watch your calorie intake, why not try using a low calorie mixers with a measure of spirits. Alternatively, add soda water to white wine for a drink that is lower in calories and alcohol content.

Notes to Editors:
- Pace yourself with a non alcoholic cocktail or soft drink known as a 'Spacer'. Soft drinks not only taste great on their own, but can provide the perfect key ingredient for a delicious non alcoholic cocktail. There's no reason why they can't both look and taste as great as any alcoholic equivalent, so if peer pressure demands that you have a drink that 'looks the part', remember that it's just as easy to ask for a non alcoholic drink that will hold its own in terms of taste, style and refreshment.
- Be Aware when not to drink - especially when there are so many parties and social occasions to attend. Even a small amount of alcohol can affect your judgement and ability so don't mix alcohol with driving, operating machinery, sports or swimming, drugs or certain medicines.
- Check your drinking. Visit www.drinkaware.co.uk to take the test to see if you should cut down on your consumption.
- Eat before you go out, or during the evening to help soak up the alcohol.
