Fitness Website Launches New 'Powerade' Flavour
Microsite helps amateur athletes test hydration and fitness as 'Powerade' launches new Orange variant
'Powerade', Coca-Cola's global sports drink and the official sports drink of the Rugby Football Union, is today launching a new microsite to celebrate the launch of 'Powerade' Orange flavour and the start of the RBS Six Nations 2008. Created by integrated marketing agency iris, the innovative microsite called www.poweradeforfree.com, gives amateur athletes the chance to compare their fitness levels to those of professionals.
The site has been designed in conjunction with former England fitness coach Dave Reddin, who helped guide the team on their journey to Rugby World Cup glory in 2003. Reddin has come up with simple hydration and fitness monitor tests that will help amateur athletes perform even better.
Once hitting the landing page, users will have the chance to test themselves in two key areas. The hydration calculator assesses how much fluid should be taken in based on the levels of exercise undertaken, while the fitness zone requires you to do some simple fitness tests and from this assesses heart rate zone, upper body strength fitness, and abdominal muscle strength and endurance.
Once the tests have been completed visitors will get a personalised email from Dave Reddin comparing their figures to that of an average professional athlete, along with training tips and advice to improve test results. Everyone registering on the site will also go into a draw to win a POLAR heart rate monitor.
Dave Reddin says: "The tests we've come up with are a really simple way for people to assess their basic hydration and fitness. Optimum capacity in both these areas can really help an amateur athlete's fitness regime, and help them achieve their potential."
The site has been launched to coincide with a new Try Me Free promotion from 'Powerade' around their new Orange flavour. Simply by tearing off the label on the bottle and filling in the details online, customers can try a bottle of 'Powerade' Orange for free.
'Powerade' Brand Director, Paul Woodward says, "'Powerade' is the ideal sports drink for all active sports participants. This innovative new microsite combines the experience of a world class fitness coach to give you all the advice you need to become the best you can, along with the essential hydration advice that new 'Powerade' Orange offers."
